Douglas Edward Donahue, 57, of Kingston, NY, formerly of Union Center Road, Ulster Park, NY, passed away Friday, May 12th, 2023.

He was born in Kingston, New York on May 24th, 1965, a son of Cheryl (Pedone) Bryant of Oneonta, NY and the late Fred Donahue (1988).

Doug attended the Port Ewen Elementary School and Kingston High School. Following school, Doug was employed as a painter.

An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking, camping, and fishing in the local area, especially on the Hudson River and Rondout Creek. He loved to travel in the ‘69 VW "Pop-up” Camper.

Doug was an accomplished guitarist who was a founding member of the band "Trial and Error". He now joins two fellow guitarists, Ronnie "Ronch" Coddington (2016) and Jerry Saunders (2021) "in Rock and Roll Heaven where you know they've got a hell of a band".

In addition to his mother Cheryl, Doug is survived by two daughters, Serenity and Merci Donahue, one son, Destin Donahue, a granddaughter, Kamalen Elizabeth, and another grandchild on the way (a blessing Doug eagerly awaited), all of Kingston, two brothers, Richard Donahue of Cobleskill, NY, and Patrick Donahue of Kingston, and longtime companion, Claudine Straub of Kingston. A niece and many cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by a Time of Remembrance at 6:00 pm.

Burial in the Donahue family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery date/time to be announced.
