The Kingston Farmers Market Uptown continues to delight young and old every Saturday, with exciting events planned for the remainder of the month of October.

For the next two weekends the market will have Elizabeth McClain, aka the Pumpkin Bumpkin, lighting up the market space with artistic pumpkin carving.

McClain has chosen the Kingston Market as the location to demonstrate her intricate and polished etching skills — find her at the Kingston Farmers Market October 15 and 22!

The Power of Produce (POP) Club provides a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations directly with farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. In addition to participating in educational activities, POP Club kids receive $2 vouchers to spend at the market, allowing them to make their own shopping decisions.

Through this program the Kingston Farmers Market is able to provide a fun and memorable experience for youth in the community at the market, on a weekly basis.

This October, the market be providing creative spaces for POP Club members to decorate their own pumpkins at the market, just in time for Halloween. Be sure to visit the market with your little ones on October 22, to join the fun and decorate your own Jack O’lantern!

The market will also host their annual Costume Party for all ages on Saturday, October 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities include bobbing for locally-grown apples, catching apples on a string, and of course the market is a safe place for children to trick or treat at vendor booths.
