Are you ready for the summer? Kingston Point Beach and Andretta Pool are.

The beach will officially open this Friday, June 17. Lifeguards will be on duty five days a week, Wednesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m.-4:45 p.m.

Andretta Pool and its splash pad will open Saturday, June 25. The pool will be open Wednesdays through Sundays (times vary each day, see schedule in photos). Mondays and Tuesdays are closed for summer camp swim days. As in the past two summers, there will be no entry fee for the pool.

Hours for both the beach and pool are subject to change, based on staffing and weather. Check the Kingston Parks and Recreation Facebook page for updates.

“We are so excited to open the beach and pool to our residents this summer,” said Mayor Steve Noble in a press release. “I want to thank our Parks and Recreation Director Lynsey Timbrouck for her hard work in making sure we have plenty of lifeguards to keep the beach and pool open and fully operational throughout the season. We look forward to a great summer of swimming, and are happy to provide both amenities free of charge.”

“Parks and Recreation is pleased to be able to open the pool and beach for our community, especially at time when lifeguards are difficult to come by,” Timbrouck said in the press release. “I’m grateful for our dedicated staff and the time being put in to train and prepare for the season ahead. We wish everyone a safe and fun summer!”

As part of the state Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant, the city is investing approximately $1.8 million in Andretta Pool Improvements. Phase 1, which included a new roof and masonry repairs at the pool house; pool lining repairs and installation of a new pump and filter; and the installation of a new splash pad has been completed. Phase 2 will begin with renovation of the pool house interior when the 2022 swim season closes. More information can be found at https://engagekingston.com/dietz-stadium-andretta-pool-improvements.
